Barrel Sheets

As part of development of data storage and dissemination methods in the Core Facility, we have developed a semi-automated electronic sediment description form ("barrel sheet"). Multisensor logger data plots (magnetic susceptibility, density) and a reduced version of the digital core image are inserted into a .pdf template, which is then edited in Adobe Illustrator. Compositional, structural, and sediment classification notes are entered directly into the electronic form. We are currently using Corelyzer for ICD on a limited basis.
