As part of development of data storage and dissemination methods in the Core Facility, we have developed a semi-automated electronic sediment description form ("barrel sheet"). Multisensor logger data plots (magnetic susceptibility, density) and a reduced version of the digital core image are inserted into a template (PDF, 197KB), which is then edited in Adobe Illustrator. Compositional, structural, and sediment classification notes are entered directly into the electronic form. We are currently using Corelyzer for ICD on a limited basis.
